Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, presents the 1968 movie The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Dr. Henry Jekyll experiments with scientific means of revealing the hidden, dark side of man and releases a murderer from within himself.

This made-for-television adaptation is set in 1888 London. Dr. Henry Jekyll experiments on himself with a concoction that releases without inhibition his long-repressed animal inclinations. Based on the 1886 story written by Robert Louis Stevenson. (horror)

There are several references to birds in this movie: Marion’s surname is Crane, Norman’s hobby is stuffing birds, and Norman states that Marion eats like a bird. Sir Alfred Hitchcock’s next movie was The Birds (1963).
