Thunderstorms and Yacht Flags

Image of storm and sailboat.

Severe thunderstorms swept through Michigan on Monday, leaving me without electricity until Tues., evening. It happens about twice a year, once in the summer and once in the winter. I need my camping gear!

As far as Hornet, the harbormaster, Bart aka Black Bart, has a sailing yacht with flags. I knew nothing about the protocol of where to put the flags, so I had to do some research. Here’s what I have so far.

“Then she saw it, a Jolly Roger pirate flag. By far, the largest flag on the sailing yacht was the Stars and Stripes, flown on a long, angled staff pole at the stern of the boat. But flying from the port spreader was a flag that said Harbor Master and beside it hung a black flag with a white skull and crossbones.”

Does it sound right? Let me know in the comments.

Talk again soon,
