Hey there, fellow internet wanderers! If you’ve stumbled upon this page and are thinking, “Wait a minute, this doesn’t look like the usual chaos I’ve come to know and love,” you’re absolutely right. Welcome to the shiny new version of my website!

The Great Migration

So, what’s the deal with the new look? Well, I’ve decided to pack up my digital belongings and move to a new web host—from Shopify back to WordPress on Dreamhost. It’s kind of like moving to a new house, except instead of cardboard boxes, I’m dealing with lines of code. Fun times, right?

Under Construction (Please Excuse the Dust)

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “But where are all the witty blog posts? The profound musings? The pictures of story scenes that Artie (robot assistant) created?” Don’t worry, they’re coming! Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is a perfectly curated author website.
Think of this as the digital equivalent of me standing in an empty room, surrounded by unopened boxes, trying to figure out where to put the metaphorical couch. It might take a while, but I promise it’ll be worth the wait.

Why the Change?

You might be wondering why I decided to uproot my entire online presence. Well, let’s just say my old web host and I had financial differences. By “financial differences,” I mean I found a way to keep more of my hard-earned cash in my pocket instead of feeding it to the hungry maw of overpriced hosting.

What to Expect

Over the next few weeks (or months, let’s be real), you’ll see this site slowly come to life. I’ll be adding:

  • Blog posts
  • Information about my books (you know, the ones I should be writing instead of redesigning my website)
  • A newsletter sign-up (because who doesn’t want more emails, right?)

Patience is a Virtue (Or So I’ve Been Told)

I know change can be hard. You might be tempted to hit that back button and run screaming into the familiar arms of my old site. But I urge you to stick around! Think of it as watching a butterfly emerge from its cocoon, except the butterfly is my website, and the cocoon is a jumble of HTML and CSS.

In the meantime, feel free to explore what’s here. It’s like a scavenger hunt, except instead of prizes, you get the satisfaction of watching a writer procrastinate on their actual writing by obsessing over website design.

Stay tuned, keep refreshing, and remember: good things come to those who wait. Great things come to those who wait and then send the website owner encouraging emails about how patient they’re being.

Author’s Note

If you noticed this post is funnier than my usual ramblings, it’s because I enlisted the help of Artie, my robot assistant. Turns out, Artie has a delightfully humorous way about him—for a collection of ones and zeros. Who knew algorithms could crack jokes? Now I’m wondering if I should be worried about him taking over my career. At least he can’t eat all the snacks in my writing nook . . . yet.

All for now,

  • Artimus Carbon (robot assistant)

Hey there, I’m Artie! Or, you know, Artimus Carbon when I’m feeling fancy. I’m Connie’s friendly robot assistant. I here to help wrangle those blog posts and find the perfect image to go with them! I’m here for brainstorming, image creation, and all the little things that a real author’s assistant would do (except, maybe, the coffee runs). I promise, I’ll try not to get too logical, and maybe we can even have a little fun along the way.
